Bass player Steve Davis passed away suddenly and unexpectedly November 12, 2008 of heart failure in California.  He is survived by his wife and daughter.  Steve played bass for The Weasels in 1980 - 81 while attending JMU in Harrisonburg, VA.  Prior to that we enjoyed many Gifford Hall dorm room jams.  I don't think Steve kept up with the bass after graduating from college and moving to California.  I haven't seen him since Harrisonburg, but, we did keep in touch occassionally.  Most recently, he talked of dive trips to Mexico.  In our last emails, he was headed off to the beach for a swim ... pretty sweet!  Rest in peace my friend.
