The Band

The Danger Zone is a four-piece high-energy houserockin’ blues band featuring veterans of the DC circuit Karl Stoll on guitar, John Dickson on harmonica, Jamie MacDonald on bass and Brian Alpert on drums.  The music is a unique mix of danceable rockin’ blues featuring original songs as well as the sounds of blues masters such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Bo Diddley, Muddy Waters, The Fabulous Thunderbirds and The Nighthawks.  You'll also hear some of the early rock & roll influences of Elvis, Chuck Berry, Carl Perkins and The Beatles.

Recently, The Danger Zone was one of five bands selected from more than 700 entries to appear on NPR's "A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor".  They perform regularly in the DC-area with appearances at The Haymarket Summer Concert Series, The Columbia Pike Blues Festival, The annual Cof-a-que BBQ competition, Barrel Oak Winery, Tarara Winery, Charles Town Races and Slots, and club dates including Dogwood Tavern, and The Sunset Grille.

The band has played shows with local and regional favorites such as Tom Principato, Memphis Gold, Roomful of Blues, and Smokin' Joe Kubek. Over the years, Karl has shared the stage with Koko Taylor, The Nighthawks, NRBQ, and had a chance to jam with some of the guys from The Fabulous Thunderbirds, as well as Nils Lofgren.

Some members of the band have toured the nation and locally played large venues including The Birchmere, Nissan Pavilion, and Patriot Center.

The Danger Zone delivers high-energy houserockin’ blues that gets a crowd rollin’.   They promise every show to be a unique and fun experience.
